Our district's schools provide an exceptional education compared to other schools of similar size, demographics and funding. I have worked hard with fellow leaders to improve those programs during the last four years, improving reading instruction for elementary students, expanding opportunities for gifted learners, adding science and business courses, increasing special education services, and more.
While program improvements have reached students of all grade levels and abilities, more needs to be done. Every students deserves success, and I will do everything possible to continue expanding opportunities for students.
Reorganizing some programs has resulted in efficiencies that have held cost increases down. We can do more within our existing revenue structure to add more classes and more academic coaching. I will fight for greater focus on boosting graduation rates, and giving students the knowledge and skills they need to improve test scores with less stress.
In all district programs, our focus must be on collaboration and continuous improvement.
